A transparent look at the quantitative signals behind every research score.
Every stock on NSE receives a Research Score from 0 to 100 — a single number that summarises the stock's current technical health, momentum, volume dynamics, fundamental quality, sector strength, risk profile, and institutional interest.
The score is recomputed daily after market close using EOD data from NSE. It is a research output, not a buy or sell recommendation.
| Score Range | Technical Signal | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| 70 – 100 | Strong Technical Alignment | All major signals aligned positively |
| 60 – 69 | Positive Trend Signals | Mostly positive with minor cautions |
| 45 – 59 | Mixed Technical Signals | Mixed signals — consolidation or transition |
| 30 – 44 | Weak Technical Signals | Weak technical momentum |
| 0 – 29 | Low Score | Multiple weak technical signals |
JaySense evaluates each stock across nine independent dimensions. Each dimension receives its own sub-score (0–100); the composite Research Score is derived from these. Dimension weights are not disclosed.
Measures whether the stock is in a confirmed, sustained directional move across multiple timeframes. A high Trend score means the price structure is orderly and directional, not choppy or mean-reverting.
Captures short-to-medium term directional energy — whether buying pressure is accelerating or fading. Distinguishes healthy pullbacks from genuine reversals.
Evaluates whether price moves are backed by conviction in traded volume. High scores indicate sustained accumulation rather than low-volume drift.
Assesses the underlying business quality — profitability, capital efficiency, and earnings trajectory. Rewards financially sound companies; penalises deteriorating fundamentals.
Considers whether the stock is priced reasonably relative to its own history and sector peers. Neither a growth screen nor a deep-value screen — it rewards fair value, not extremes.
Tracks revenue and earnings growth trajectory — both recent momentum and multi-year consistency. Companies with accelerating, durable growth score higher.
Scores the stock in context of its sector's current strength relative to the broader market. A good stock in a leading sector scores higher than the same stock in a lagging sector.
Measures downside risk — volatility, distance from recent highs, and proximity to known risk events. A high Risk score means the stock has a lower-risk profile at the time of scoring.
Detects changes in institutional ownership and participation. Sustained institutional buying is a positive signal; consistent distribution is negative.
We run a weekly validation of JaySense scores against actual NSE price outcomes across 120+ liquid stocks. The engine samples every stock at weekly intervals, records the Research Score, then measures the actual 7-day forward return. Results are aggregated into score bands. Past performance is not indicative of future results.
The full, live table — win rate, average return, net return after brokerage, and Sharpe ratio by score band — is publicly available at /score-validation. It is updated automatically every Sunday night after the nightly engine run.
