What is the JayScore?

The JayScore is a composite research score, ranging from 0 to 100, that summarises the overall research quality of an NSE-listed stock at a given point in time. A higher score means more of the underlying research dimensions are aligned in a positive direction.

How is the score calculated?

JaySense evaluates each stock across 9 research dimensions — Trend, Momentum, Volume, Valuation, Growth, Sector, Risk, Institutional, and Fundamentals. Each dimension is scored from 0 to 100. The JayScore is a weighted average of these 9 sub-scores.

The weights are not equal. Dimensions with stronger predictive validity in back-testing (such as Trend and Momentum) carry higher weight than supporting dimensions like Valuation, which is long-term in nature and less informative for short-to-medium term research.

What do the score bands mean?

JaySense groups scores into four research bands:

75 – 100 High Conviction Research — most dimensions are aligned positively
60 – 74 Moderate Conviction — majority of dimensions are positive
45 – 59 Mixed — positive and cautionary signals roughly balanced
0 – 44 Cautionary — majority of dimensions show weakness

What the score is NOT

The JayScore is not a buy or sell recommendation. JaySense is not registered with SEBI as an Investment Adviser, and nothing on this platform constitutes investment advice. The score reflects the state of research dimensions at a point in time — it does not guarantee future returns or protect against losses.

Scores are computed using data from public sources (NSE, BSE, SEBI filings). Data delays, errors in underlying data, and model limitations can all affect accuracy.
